WHY MANUAL THERAPY?
The manual therapy approach is very different than just learning how to stretch your muscles. Dr. Hnath is a highly skilled, doctoral trained clinician that uses hands-on techniques, including manipulation and mobilization, to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures to help regulate pain, increase range of motion, reduce or eliminate soft tissue inflammation, improve tissue repair and to increase relaxation, movement and function. She utilizes techniques that not only address mobility limitations in the muscles but the surrounding connective tissue and fascia, the true culprit of most pain and restriction. According to the Mayo Clinic, "It is thought that tightness within the fascia/connective tissues causes restriction of muscle and other tissues, resulting in back pain and loss of motion. Injuries, stress, inflammation, trauma and poor posture supposedly contribute to this tightness." Dr. Hnath's manual techniques restore and improve mobility to tight fascia, stiff joints and reduces muscle tension in order to return her clients to a more natural motion without pain and promote optimial movement and posture.
